Top view of my ceramic vessels "Lacus".
These ceramic vessels are made of 100% porcelain and are all hand built using a coiling technique. The vessels have no glaze, but are fired to 1260°C, causing the porcelain to vitrify and become watertight. The vessels are 33cm, 22cm, and 11cm tall.
The idea for these vessels has been brewing for a long time, and came from the area where I grew up, Lillehammer, Norway.
When growing up I have seen the river Mesna work its way down into the valley, creating small pools, lakes, and waterfalls along its path. I very much liked the idea of creating something that shows these levels in the terrain.
The result so far are these 3 vessels, though I intend to continue work on these, and will most likely experiment with using my porcelain/terracotta colour palette.
