Ceramic Bead Necklaceby ~Itherin

This necklace is made of ceramic beads and 3 mm cream ribbon. The beads are a mix of Audrey Blackman porcelain and terracotta. The beads are not glazed, but fired to 1260°C for vitrification. The colour is a result of the clay mix and the high firing temperature.

Each bead is about 10 mm in diameter, and there are 44 beads in the necklace.

I think this is my favortie of the recent jewelery you've done

The lace is a lovely delicate touch, and the way it wraps around the beads is simple beautiful

I love the pale blue-grey colour as well.

I am very happy with it, I like the technique of "sewing" the beads in place. Uses LOADS of ribbon, though. About 7 cm per bead. This particular one has over 3 m of ribbon!

I think I prefer this necklace with darker beads though. Gives a nice contrast to the cream ribbon.
